Aron Klein is a London based photographer with a global outlook.
For over a decade, Aron has travelled extensively on assignment for NGOs, brands, and advertising clients, using his camera as a tool to shine light on our planet’s rich diversity of cultures, traditions, and ecosystems.
Notable personal projects include Above the East, created whilst embedded with Japanese Yamabushi monks, and Kukeri Project, which saw Aron travel to the Balkan mountains to capture the carnivalesque decorative costumes of local Bulgarian men performing the centuries old tradition of Kukeri. The larger than life costumes blur the boundaries between man and beast, against the cold, stark backdrop of the Bulgarian winter. “Our society no longer contains ceremony and ritual as part of our cultural practice, so I was really drawn to document a community that continues to value folklore and tradition.”
